Overview
Appdome eliminates the manual development work required to implement ONE-AppConfig. Any app maker, including ISVs, can now add AppConfig to an app in minutes, without developers writing a single line of code.
This article will show you how to Fuse your app to enable AppConfig capabilities, so you can centrally manage these awesome settings from your EMM/MDM:
- Manage Appdome Security
- Data-at-Rest Encryption
- Copy/Paste Protection
- Disable Screen Capture
- Jailbreak Detection
- Root Detection
- Passcode / Touch ID
- Favor Native iOS Security
- Favor Android@Work Security
1. Upload App to the Appdome Platform
You will need to have your app binary available to begin. If you are running iOS, you can use a signed or unsigned .ipa file. However, if you are running Android, please make sure you upload a signed .apk file.
You can add an app to the Appdome platform in two ways. You can simply drag the .ipa or .apk file in the box at the center of the screen or Click Add New App. For now, let’s click Add New App and then browse your local files for the .ipa or .apk:
Note: the step numbers are for your convenience and are not shown on the actual UI.
Once you find the .ipa or .apk file you intend to use, simply select it. The file will be automatically added to the Appdome platform. Once complete, you’ll see a success message and automatically moved to the next step in the workflow.
2. Get ready to make your Fusion selections
After your app is uploaded to the Appdome platform, you are ready to make your Fusion selections from the Fuse tab of the workflow.
Click the Fuse tab
Note: the step numbers are for your convenience and are not shown on the actual UI.
3. Enable AppConfig for MDM
From Fuse > Management > AppConfig for MDM, Enable AppConfig Managed Security
Note: Turning on AppConfig disables the 3rd Party SDK for EMM under the Management tab. If you Fuse an app to integrate with an EMM SDK you don't need AppConfig.
After Fusing an app with AppConfig Managed Security you can then upload this Fused app to the Apple App Store, Google Play, or your favorite MDM.
From your MDM, you can centrally manage the AppConfig settings. To do this, you will need to add some additional settings.
